State and Regional Team Info
Junior State Championships (U14, U16 & U18)
The Junior State Championships are held every year, generally during the July school holidays. Six metropolitan and four regional zones will play in the event in both boys and girls divisions for U14, U16 and U18. Doncaster players trial for the North East Red Devils, along with players from Greensborough, KBH, Croydon Ranges, Hume, Cragieburn Falcons and United Khalsa. The Zone team nominations will be made available during late March on Hockey Victoria’s JSC Event Page.
Hockey Victoria State Teams U14 to U21
All players wishing to be selected in the U14 to U21 State Teams must nominate via the Hockey Victoria website.
Players often nominate after going to a Hockey Victoria Draft Camp, in order to participate in the High Performance Academy Program.
Hockey Victoria’s High Performance pages are the best place to learn about the process.
School Sport Victoria
School Sport Victoria also select boy’s and girl’s hockey teams to compete at the School Sport Australia championships each year. To nominate, your school must be a member of SSV. For more information please see: School Sport Victoria U12 and U16 Hockey nomination information.
National Programs
Access to the National Programs is via Victorian team selection, and performance at National Championships. Hockey Australia has more information about the National Programs and Athlete Pathways.
